Am I A Candidate For Invisalign®?
Many of our patients who are interested in receiving orthodontic treatment are candidates for Invisalign. While clear aligner therapy used to be recommended for patients with mild malocclusion, it can now be used to help a wide variety of patients with all different kinds of orthodontic needs. Wearing clear aligners consistently does require commitment on the patient’s part, so Invisalign is not always recommended to patients who are very forgetful or younger kids who are not responsible enough to keep track of removable trays.
How Often Do You Have To Wear Invisalign® Aligners?
Patients should plan to wear their Invisalign aligners every day for approximately 20 to 22 hours per day. Ideally, you should wear your aligners any time you are not eating or brushing your teeth to keep your treatment plan on track. Not wearing aligners frequently enough can lead to the teeth shifting back to their original positions, which can extend your treatment plan. Once your treatment is complete, we will provide you with a custom retainer to keep your teeth perfectly in place, which only needs to be worn at night.
How Long Does Invisalign® Treatment Take?
The length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on your unique orthodontic needs, but most patients can achieve their desired results within six to 12 months. While some cases may require more time, Invisalign is often faster than traditional braces. During your initial consultation, our team will assess your smile and create a personalized treatment plan with an estimated timeline.
